An arena shooter with the Ikaruga polarity mechanic.

Originally made for Global Game Jam 2022 on the theme of "duality".

Instructions

Absorb bullets of the same color as your shield.

Contact with bullets of the opposite color or enemies will kill you (though your death hitbox is much smaller than the shield)

Destroy three enemies of the same color in a row to earn a "chain". Every consecutive chain will increase your score multiplier by one, but breaking the chain will reset the multiplier.

For every ten chains (even if not consecutive) you will have the opportunity to pick one of two power-ups.

If you manage to beat the boss you will receive a "Winner's Triangle" and your final time and score will be highlighted in gold.

• WASD/Arrows: Move
• Q: Choose left power-up
• E: Choose right power-up
• Left Click: Shoot (will fire at pointer position)
• Right Click: Change polarity
• Esc: Open pause menu

Gamepad

• Left Stick: Move
• Right Stick: Shoot
• Shoulder Buttons: Change polarity
• Left Trigger: Choose left power-up
• Right Trigger: Choose right power-up
• Middle buttons: Open pause menu

Q: Why the weird name?
A: I recently learned that Ikaruga is the name of a town in Japan, so I decided to name this game after the village where I grew up in the UK which has a business park called Winnersh Triangle.
